PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for manufacturing a thermoplastic resin foam capable of providing the form having excellent compression strength. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a thermoplastic resin foam comprises the steps of applying a temperature, time and pressure necessary to maximize number of foam nuclei in a thermoplastic resin foamable sheet containing a thermal decomposition type foaming agent to foam the sheet in its thickness direction while regulating foaming in an inner surface direction, then opening the pressure to an ordinary pressure, and then heating the sheet to foam it in the thickness direction. |
