摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable rolling at greatly high speed and under greatly high pressure by improving a lubricating method in the cold rolling of metallic material such as steel. SOLUTION: In a lubricating method between a material to be rolled and work rolls in the cold rolling, by pressing s solid lubricant against at least the inlet side of the rolls of at least one side between the work rolls and the material to be rolled, the lubricant is supplied. The solid lubricant is possible to easily make it into hydrophobic by selecting the material, possible to increase the adhesiveness to the surfaces of the roll and material to be rolled and lubricant film having adequate thickness is surely formed and maintained even when the lubricant is used together with much cooling water. By executing the solid lubrication like this, even in the cold rolling at high speed and under high pressure, the fixed lubricant film is formed and maintained, so the burning, roll wear, chattering, or the like are surely prevented.
