PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to view the title of a book from either one side of the back side and the fore edge side by a method wherein a front cover, a rear cover and a spine are provided and in addition, a flap part is provided in either the front cover or the rear cover and an extended piece part, the width of which is nearly equal to the width of the fore edge of the book, and a flap part are continuously connected to the other cover. SOLUTION: To the front cover 2 (or the rear cover 3) of a book cover 1, an extended piece part 5, the width of which can cover the fore edge of the book to be covered with this book cover and on which a title 10 is printed, is continuously connected. In succession, to this exended piece part 5, a flap part 6 is provided. Further, to the other cover (the rear cover) 3, a flap part 7 is continuously connected. In addition, by tucking the flap part 7 in the reverse side of the rear cover 3 through the bending of the exended piece part 5, the fore edge of the book is covered with the extended piece part resulting in acting the extended piece part 5 as a fore edge cover. In the book, to which this book cover 1 is applied, the title 9 of the book can be viewed even when the book is housed in a bookshelf or the like from either one side of the back side and the fore edge side.
