PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent long wastes from being hooked in the circumferential parts of sorting holes of a rotary drum for sorting wastes by disposing a long waste-rolling fork having a plurality of entwining fingers extended in back and forth directions in the rotary drum and rotating the rolling fork on its axial line. SOLUTION: At the time of sorting crushed wastes D, a supporting truck 23 is previously moved forward and a long waste-rolling fork 18 is introduced into a rotary drum 3 for sorting wastes. In such a state, the rotary drum 3 and the rolling fork 18 are rotated counterclockwise and clockwise, respectively. Crushed wastes D are thrown through a loading duct 11 to the rotary drum 3. Small pieces and middle size pieces of wastes are consequently sorted through small piece sorting holes 14 and middle piece sorting holes 16. Long wastes T such as tapes and the like move forward to a middle piece sorting area 13 and rolled up so as to be entwined in the entwining fingers 22 of the rolling fork 18. The entwined long wastes T are then scraped out by a scraping out tool 28 at the time when the supporting truck 23 moves backward.
