PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily clean the inside of a duct and the inside of a dust collecting apparatus within a short time by branching and forming a recessed part for housing a cleaning tool in a part of a duct, cleaning the inside of the dust by sending the cleaning tool from the housing recessed part at the time of cleaning, and retrieving and housing the cleaning tool in the housing recessed part after cleaning. SOLUTION: In the case the cleaning method is applied to a duct 4 for sending rice bran separated by a separating apparatus 2 to a dust collecting apparatus 3, a housing recessed part 6 is branched and formed in a proper point of the duct 4 and, in this case, the housing recessed part 6 is so branched and formed as to be shunted backward relatively to the floating direction of floating matter in the duct 4, The cleaning tool 5 is to be housed in the housing recessed part 6 and the cleaning tool 5 is joined to a wire 7 or the like in both rear and front ends and is so installed as to connect one end to the housing recessed part 6 and as to enable the other end to be drawn out and in the duct 4 from a proper point on the downstream side of the duct 4. Consequently, the cleaning tool 5 is repeatedly reciprocated and slid in the duct 4 until the matter adhering to the duct is removed and the adhering matter stuck to the inner wall face of the duct 4 can thus be peeled and removed.
