PURPOSE: An electrolysis apparatus having liquid squeezer out of contact with strip is provided to prevent the leakage of a coating liquid and the crumples of the surfaces of the strip. CONSTITUTION: An electrolysis apparatus comprising a pair of liquid squeezers provided at least on the entrance side or exit side of a treatment chamber of an electrolysis apparatus through which a strip is continuously passed, characterized in that the gap between the pair of the liquid squeezers is slightly larger than the thickness of the strip so as to keep the surfaces of the strip out of contact with the liquid squeezers such as sealing rolls, a nozzle device, or wedge-type sealing blocks.
