PURPOSE: An apparatus for recognizing a transmitting side using a digital signaling processor is provided to recognize a transmitting side user by several inquiries, in case that a call is provided from the transmitting side user. CONSTITUTION: A rectifier(10), rectifying AC voltage transmitted from a tip line into DC voltage, supplies the rectified DC voltage to a digital signaling processor(40) through a transfer unit(30). A ringer detector(20) transmits a ring signal to the transfer unit(30) so that the condition of the transfer unit(30) can be switched to the direction of the digital signaling processor(40). The digital signaling processor(40), after receiving the ring signal supplied through the transfer unit(30) from the ringer detector(20), transmits inquiry information about receiving side user information to a transmitting side user through the transfer unit(30) and the rectifier(10). An amplifier(50), driven by the digital signaling processor(40), amplifies the ring signal provided from the digital signaling processor(40) and transmits the amplified ring signal to a speaker(70). A ring counter counts signals transmitted through the speaker(70) from the amplifier(50).
