PURPOSE: An interlock device for preventing backup misoperation of a manual transmission vehicle is provided to prevent misoperation to shift to a backup stage. CONSTITUTION: When a driver misoperates a shift lever while shifting to a fourth stage from a fifth stage or shifts a gear to the direction for shifting to a backup gear due to misunderstanding, a shift fork(20) is moved to the right and hung on an interlock pin(13) of an interlocker. An inclined face of the shift fork bumps against an inclined face of the interlock pin. The shift lever is operated by the force stronger than the stretching force of an interlock spring(12) thus shifting to a backup gear is not performed until the shift fork is not shifted. Thereby, the driver senses the load given to the operation of the shift lever while operating the shift lever by a general force needed for operating a shift lever.
