<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To send the whole assist gas to a machining part at high flow speed and to conduct laser beam machining with effectively using the whole laser beam. SOLUTION: The assist gas Q supplied into an assist gas nozzle 16 is ejected from the opening part 16a of a nozzle tip toward the cutting part 2a of an object 2 to be cut. At this time, the opening diameter D of the opening part 16a is made roughly equal to a cutting width (w) and is smaller than a conventional opening diameter. Thus, an assist gas ejection speed is accelerated as well as the whole assist gas Q is sent into the cutting part 2a. Because the opening diameter is narrowed, the diameter of the inner circumferential face of the assist gas nozzle 16a is narrowed down, the narrowed down inner circumferential face is served as a reflection face 16a. The laser beam made incidence on the reflection face 16a is reflected and irradiated/converged toward the object 2. Thus, the whole laser beam 3 is contributed to machining.</p> |
