PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain type breakwater, by which both reflected waves to the open sea side and transmitted waves to the inside can be reduced effectively. SOLUTION: The first wave-preventive wall 14 inclined to the front side of a jacket 12 borne by bearing piles 11A, 11B and the second wave-preventive wall 15 made approximately perpendicular to the rear side are installed. Waves W surging upon from the open sea are reflected to the open sea A side by the first wave-preventive wall 13, but a reflection factor is decreased because a part in waves W is passed into an introducing void 15 formed to the first wave-preventive wall 13, and the increase of wave height due to an interference in reflected waves and incident waves is inhibited effectively. Waves passed through the introducing void 15 are damped by the generation of a turbulent flow in the process of the passage while being closed in a damping space 16 between the void 15 and the second wave-preventive wall 14 and being damped.
