CHARACTER INPUT SYSTEM USING TELEPHONE

PURPOSE: A character input system using a telephone is provided so that a user can easily input numbers and characters directly by operating a telephone key-pad. CONSTITUTION: A telephone(10) is composed of a key-pad(11) having a plurality of numbers and function keys and an LCD display part(12). A controller(20) carries out overall controls for character input. A look-up table(30) stores shapes dependent on the characteristics of key-pad number arrangement in the form of a table. A module part(40) makes a complete sentence by combining characters and symbols loaded from the look-up table(30). A database(50) records the completed sentences. The module part(40) is comprised of a hangul module(42), a shape extracting module(43) and an abbreviated key module(44).
