PURPOSE: A contact member with double insulation-piercing device is provided a compact structure fitted with a plug-in knife contact. CONSTITUTION: A contact member(1b) is formed by a component that is U-shaped in cross section, and produced from a sheet metal part using a punching-bending process and has a double insulation-piercing clamp(2) for electrical insulation connection of an insulated electrical conductor(28). The double piercing clamp(2) includes two contact arms(3,4) which are parallel to one another. The contact arms(3,4) are provided with piercing clamp slot(5,6) respectively. The central part(7) of the contact member(1b) is constructed with two slot-like cutouts(15) which are parallel to one another and to free longitudinal side. In the longitudinal direction of the central part(7), transversely with respect to the contact arm(3,4), the slot-like cutouts(15) extend beyond the entire of length of the central part(7), through bends of the contact arms(3,4) as far as into these contact arms(3,4). The slot-like cutouts(15) are provided with round apertures(17). When a blade contact(19) is plugged into the round apertures, these apertures and the slot widen elastically, as a result, produce a contact force.
