PURPOSE: A system for controlling a windscreen/rear screen wiper is provided to automatically controll the rear screen wiper according to the amount of rainfall. CONSTITUTION: A system (50) for controlling a windscreen/rear screen wiper is used to trigger a further windscreen/rear screen wiper. The control system (50) comprises a control device (18) via whose signal output (20) first control signals (42) are emitted for actuating the wiper, preferably a motor vehicle windscreen wiper (26), and via whose further signal output (22), further control signals (42) are emitted for actuating a further wiper, preferably a rear screen wiper (30).
