PURPOSE: Provided are detergents containing the insect repellent agent 3-(N-butylacetamino) ethyl propionate as well as to the use of the insect repellent agent in all kinds of detergent to repel insects. Also provided is a method for cleaning and simultaneously repelling insects, wherein detergents containing 3-(N-butylacetamino) ethyl propionate are used. CONSTITUTION: A composition is characterized by comprising 0.1-20 wt.% of ethyl 3-(N-butylacetamino)propionate and preferably, one or more additional insect repellent agent of 0.1-20 wt.% which comprises diethyltoluamide, 2-ethyl-1,3-hexanediol, dibutyl succinate or one or more essential oil. The compositions are base on the aqueous or aqueous alcoholic solution and are in the form of detergent, wax, gell, hair shampoo, solid products, oil products, cream, dispersant or spray. The compositions are used as detergents and simultaneously insecticides.
