<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily heat a compost material to a high temp. with small power and to increase the residence time and retained amt. at the high-temp. part. SOLUTION: A first forced-feed screw 6 to be driven by a motor 5 is set in a cylindrical first treating vessel 2. The first forced-feed screw 6 is composed of a rotating shaft 14, a back-feed blade 16, a feed blade 15 and a rotating tooth 17. The rotating shaft 14 is formed by a small-diameter shaft 14a, a large- diameter shaft 14b and a tapering shaft 14c, the delivery cross-sectional area of a compost material 11 formed between the first treating vessel 2 and the rotating shaft 14 is gradually decreased at the tapering shaft part and minimized at the part of the large-diameter shaft 14b. Consequently, the compost material 11 is easily heated with small power, and the residence time and retained amt. at the high-temp. part are increased. A foreign matter separator may optionally be installed at the raw material inlet of the first treating tank 2.</p> |
