PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement stable and high volume storage efficiency, by changing gaseous fuel composed mainly by methane gas to the other gas having high volume storage efficiency thereby to store and restore the changed gas. SOLUTION: When storing gaseous fuel, firstly, a storage container 3 storing activated carbon as absorbing material is exhausted inside thereof by a vacuum pump 4 to be kept in a decompression state, and is supplied with methane gas inside thereof from a gas cylinder 1. Next, chlorine gas is introduced into the container 3, and the methane gas and the chlorine gas are made directly reacted, while a temperature in the storage container 3 is kept at a reaction temperature of 350-400 deg.C, to generate methyl chloride to be absorbed to the activated carbon then to be stored. In volume storing efficiency, an occlusion amount of the methyl chloride has the number of moles of 17.5 times of an absorption amount of methane only, thereby enabling storage with extremely high efficiency. Introducing hydrogen gas into the storage container 3 to react the methyl chloride and the hydrogen gas carries out restoration to the methane gas. |
