PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mulching device capable of easily, rapidly and independently adjusting the ground-notching depths of right and left soil-covering members and capable of surely covering both the right and left side edge portions of an agricultural film by disposing specific nipping members capable of being freely brought into contact with or separated from a pair of right and left compacting members, respectively. SOLUTION: In this mulching device, the right and left side edge portions of a rolled agricultural film are treaded with a pair of right and left compacting members 5 on the surface of the ground to deliver the film and cover the surface of the field with the film, and the right and left treaded side edge portions of the agricultural film are then covered with soil by the use of a pair of right and left soil-covering members 6. The ground-notching depths of the right and left side edge portions 6 can separately be adjusted with height-adjusting devices 21, respectively. The right and left soilcovering members 6 are provided with hydraulic driving members 21a for adjusting the ground-notching depths of the right and left soil-covering members 6 from a state reaching the surface of the ground. Nipping members 36 capable of being brought into contact with or separated from the right and left compacting members 5 are further disposed. The nipping members 36 can nip the agricultural film in cooperation with the right and left compacting members 5 in a state that the right and left compacting members 5 are floated from the ground surface.
