PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid friction member for brake capable of reducing squeaking. SOLUTION: This is a hybrid friction member for brake provided with a lowμfriction member 3 having relatively low friction coefficient and a highμfriction member 4 having relatively higher friction coefficient than the lowμfriction member 3. The lowμfriction member 3 protrudes on a mating member side more than the highμfriction member 4. The lowμfriction member 3 is arranged on the outside and the inside of the highμfriction member in the direction of crossing slide direction. Preferably, the lowμfriction member 3 protrudes in the direction of friction slide more than the highμfriction member 4 in the front and rear in the direction of friction slide.
