PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a two piece boom type operating machine capable of easily changing an operation speed of a second boom even during the operation, improving controllability of the second boom for that purpose and promoting work efficiency while surely avoiding dangerousness such as clash or the like. SOLUTION: When a reduced speed switch 28 is not turned ON while a second boom rising switch 23 is turned ON, the rising of the second boom is controlled by a speed table A. In that case, a lifting speed is different in accordance with value of ground angleθof a first boom with the surface of the earth, and the smaller the value of the ground angleθbecomes, the lower the speed makes. When the reduced speed switch 28 is turned ON by a step 2, it becomes a speed table B, the rising speed of the second boom becomes a certain reduced speed. When the reduced speed switch 28 is turned ON in a state to turn on a second boom falling switch 24, the falling speed of the second boom becomes a certain reduced speed.
