PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing caption is provided to display an OSD blanking signal for caption removal in order to remove the translation caption more effectively. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for removing caption includes a caption signal detector(10), a micro computer(20), an OSD(on screen display) text generator(30), a synchronous separator(40), a key input(50), a color signal driver(60) and a CPT(color brown tube) driver(70). The caption signal detector(10) includes a low pass filter, a pedestal clamp circuit, a switch, a RC circuit, and a comparator. The micro computer(20) supplies OSD text to the color signal driver(60). The OSD text generator(30) stores OSD text for caption removal. The synchronous separator(40) separates horizontal and vertical synchronous signal. The key input(50) inputs user commands. The color signal driver(60) outputs the OSD text and the color signal to the CPT driver. The CPT driver(70) amplifies and outputs the output color signal from the color signal driver(60). |
