PURPOSE: A semiconductor device is provided to reduce a chip area and to decrease fabricating cost by including repeating patterns and by sharing wires and contacts positioned on the border between repeating units. CONSTITUTION: First and second repeating units(11,12) have four word lines(WL7-WL4,WL3-WL0) each as repeating units. The first and the second repeating units have word line decoders(11-0 to 11-3,12-0 to 12-3) each. Each word line decoder consists of a NAND gate(13a) and an inverter circuit(13b). The first and the second repeating units have plural input lines consisting of first metal wires(M1) and address signals(A0,/A0,A1,/A1). The repeating units include plural address lines consisting of second metal wires(M2) and several contacts(CT). Herein, the contacts are connected between the first and the second metal wires from a necessary position. The first and the second repeating units share a wire(16) and a contact(CT10) on the border of the repeating units. Herein, the wire is formed by the first metal wire, and the contact connects the wire to a wire(17) consisting of the second metal wire.
