PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an end surface gall to be generated in conveying of a booklet medium, to reduce a rate of generation of jamming, and to prevent the booklet medium from being damaged or dirtied in re-conveying in a case where jamming occurs, concerning a booklet medium handling device and a recording medium. SOLUTION: A device provided with a conveying motor 30 for driving a conveying mechanism for conveying a booklet medium (for instant, a passbook) 15 along a conveying passage 3, a turning-over motor 20 for rotationally driving a turning-over roller 16 for turning over the booklet medium 15, and a sensor 31 for detecting the position of the booklet medium 15 is provided with a motor control means for reducing the conveying speed (V1) for the booklet medium 15 slower than (V1<V2) the rotational speed (V2) of the turning-over roller 16 by reducing the rotational speed of the conveying motor 30 slower than the speed in normal conveyance while keeping the rotational speed of the turning-over motor 20 constant at the time when the sensor 31 detects that the booklet medium 15 reaches the position of the turning-over roller 16.
