PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of sectional deformation of a locker when a load higher than a given value is applied from a side and to prevent the occurrence of break in a floor cross member. SOLUTION: This lower structure comprises a locker 30 extending longitudinally of a car body; a floor cross member 32 extending in the direction of the width of a car body; and a reinforcing panel 34 arranged in the structure in a closed section of the locker. In this case, the side piece 64 of a reinforcing panel 34 is formed such that when the side piece is coupled to the inside piece 44 of the inner panel 38, it is sized enough to allow protrusion forward, rearward, and upward of the body part 52 of a floor cross member coupled to the inside piece of the inner panel.
