PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display projector is provided, which reduces photo-loss to the minimum and can use optical components simply manufactured and cut the price of components sharply. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display(LCD) comprises; a lamp (32) as a light source; a reflex mirror (34) which condenses incident light from a lamp (32); a primary condenser (36) which converts divergent light into parallel light; a polarization separator (38) which separates non-polarized beam into rotary polarized beam; a lambda half plate (40) which converts polarization properties; a primary reflex mirror (42) for converting the light path of incident rotary polarized beam from a lambda half plate (40); a diffraction grating (44) for converting the light path to lead incident light from a polarization separator (38) and a primary reflex mirror (34); a primary and a secondary dichroic mirror (50) (54) for condensing the corresponding LCD panel (60R, 60G, 60B) to the three primary colors (R, G, B) after separating the condensed light through a secondary reflex mirror (30) and a secondary condenser (48) by colors; a reflex mirror (52, 56, 58); a photosynthesizing device (62) for synthesizing the three primary colors; a magnifying projecting lens (64) for magnifying and projecting images from a photosynthesizing device (62). |
