PURPOSE: A device for folding a web of material is provided to produce a zig-zag folded filter element from a web of material, which is supplied through a feeding device to a die stamping unit. CONSTITUTION: A device for folding a web of material contains the following characteristics: to define the folding line, the die stamping unit is fitted with an anvil roll (21) and a stamping die (24), where the die stamping unit is ultrasound-activated, so that the stamping operation is improved.
