PURPOSE: A method and a device for discontinuously discharging a molten mass are provided to safely eliminate a solidified plug which is a discharging passage. CONSTITUTION: In a method and a device for discontinuously discharging a molten mass, a flow of a molten mass, which is in a discharging passage(2) of a vessel, is interrupted at a back of the passage(2) and cooled to be solidified molten mass. In order to renewedly discharge the solidified molten mass, an inductor(5) applies electromagnetic energy to the solidified molten mass in the passage(2) to melt it, thereby releasing the interrupted flow of the molten mass. Accordingly, it is possible to discontinuously discharge the molten mass.
