PURPOSE: A trunk seizure method of the exchange, as related to a full electronic switching system having a time-space-time structure, is provided to seize an adjacent outgoing trunk line to reduce the load of a space switch. CONSTITUTION: If an incoming call is generated from a subscriber, a trunk interface unit notifies an incoming call processing unit of a trunk seizure detection message(200). The incoming call processing unit transmits a prefix translation request message to translate a prefix to a number translation unit(201). The number translation unit discriminates whether the prefix is a local incoming prefix or an outgoing prefix to an other office(202). If the prefix is an other office prefix, the number translation unit requests routing to an outgoing routing unit(204). The outgoing routing unit searches a route assigned to the prefix and transmits assigned trunk information to a trunk search unit(205). The trunk search unit requests trunk seizure to an outgoing call processing unit(206). The outgoing call processing unit transmits a result message for the execution of trunk seizure to the incoming call processing unit(207). The incoming call processing unit controls a time switch connection unit so that the call processing can be proceeded continuously(208).
