PURPOSE: A method for setting a communication line by hook off signal of MDF(Man Distribution Frame) phone is provided for a MDF man to request for a test related to a line to an operator by setting the communication line between the MDF man and the operator. CONSTITUTION: If a MDF man within a MDF room hooks off a handset of a MDF telephone for transmitting insertion error message to an operator, a hook signal is transmitted to a MDF channel part(200). If the hook off signal is detected(201), the MDF channel part transmits the hook off signal to a maintaining and repairing main processor(203), which switches an operator time slot with a MDF time slot for receiving and transmitting communication speech between the MDF man and the operator(205) ,and transmits a ring to an operator's phone connected with an operator terminal through an operator channel part for setting a communication line(206-208).
