PURPOSE: A call setup method between a GSM terminal and a PCS terminal is provided to achieve call setup between a GSM mobile terminal of the TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) system and a PCS mobile terminal of the CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) system. CONSTITUTION: A GSM mobile terminal dials a telephone number message to be transmitted to a GSM base station controller(200). The GSM base station controller transmits the received telephone number message to a GSM mobile call control unit in an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(201). The GSM mobile call control unit transmits the telephone number message to a number translation unit(202). The number translation unit, after analyzing the telephone number message, discriminates whether the telephone number message is of a GSM mobile call group or a PCS mobile call group(204). If it is of the PCS mobile call group, the number translation unit transmits the analyzed message to the GSM mobile call control unit(205). The GSM mobile call control unit transmits the location request message of a called PCS mobile terminal to a home location register(207). The home location register, after searching the database according to the location request message, transmits a message for routing information to the GSM mobile call control unit(208).
