PURPOSE: A stern propeller is provided to brake suddenly and back astern through instantaneous speed changing in finding an obstacle. CONSTITUTION: A second transfer unit(14) is divided into upper and lower shafts(14a,14b) and the rotational force of the upper shaft is delivered to the lower one by a connecting member(15). The bevel gear teeth of a third transfer unit(16) rotate to convert the vertical rotation of the second transfer unit into horizontal one. After that, a propellant unit(18) rotates with the horizontal rotation of the third transfer unit so a ship as to run. In finding a sudden obstacle, a driving shaft(11) is stopped or propelled reversely by operating a transmission(8).
