PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability by using a joint key provided with a sealing material having a releasing tape bonded to both side faces and forming a contin uous material with the releasing tape. SOLUTION: The joint key 1 having a sealing material has a U-shaped cross- section and is provided with a sealing material 2 made of small piece of polyisobutylene, etc., and attached to the middle part of both side faces 11 of the joint key. The sealing material 2 is protected with a releasing tape 2 to prevent the staining before use. Both tip ends of the joint key 1 are tapered to facilitate the insertion into a frame material. The joint key is also provided with a backstop part 5 to hinder the falling off of the inserted joint key 1 and a ridge part 6 to improve the strength of the key 1. It is unnecessary to attach small pieces of a sealing material to both side faces 11 of each joint key 1 in the assembly of a spacer by preparatorily attaching small pieces of sealing material 2 to the middle part of both side faces of the joint key 1.
