PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance processing efficiency of image recorder furthermore by moving a recording medium smoothly in a cutting unit at all times. SOLUTION: A recording medium 102-1 discharged from an image recorder body 200 is moved on the path 301 in a unit 300 and cut by means of a rotary cutter 302 and a fixed cutter 303 before being discharged. The recording medium 102-1 is carried by the carrying force of a carrying unit in the body 200. A loop is generated when the recording medium 102-1 does not smoothly move in the path 301 and the recording medium 102-1 comes into pressure contact with an assist roller 304 rotating at a speed higher than the carrying speed of the recording medium. The recording medium 102-1 receives a carrying force from the assist roller 304 and moves smoothly.
