METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF PHASE REVERSING CORE/SHELL TYPE MICROGEL

PURPOSE: A method for the preparation of phase reversing core-shell type microgel is provided, which is prepared by two-step process without emulsifying agent of the conventional core/shell two-step process. So the microgel has at once merits of paints using conventional microgel emulsifying polymer as main resin and enhanced water-resistance. CONSTITUTION: A method for the preparation comprises the steps of; preparing core emulsion polymer by addition reaction of 10-50 pts.wt of monomer containing carboxylic group in molecular, 50-90 pts.wt of non-crosslinked type monomer containing one olefin in molecular, crosslinked type monomer containing selectively two more olefin in molecular and/or cationic type reactivity emulsifying agent based on 100 pts.wt of core monomer composition; preparing similar water-soluble resin by adding 0.5-1.2 equivalent of neutralizing agent based on one equivalent of carboxylic acid of the prepared core emulsion polymer; and preparing shell emulsion polymer by reacting 88-99.9 pts.wt of non-crosslinked type monomer containing one olefin in molecular and 0.1-12 pts.wt of crosslinked type monomer containing two more olefin in molucular.
