摘要 <p>PURPOSE: A porous inorganic composite comprising a porous inorganic particulate material and an inorganic substance, a process for producing the same and a method for separating a metal element using the porous inorganic composite are provided. CONSTITUTION: Porous inorganic particulate material for use as a carrier in the present porous inorganic composite has an average particle size of 1 mu m to 1 mm, preferably 20 mu m to 500 mu m. The porous inorganic particulate material having an average particle size of 1 mu m or more can be more readily handled, and, when used by packing in the column, can lower the pressure loss before and after the column. When the average particle size is not more than 1 mm, the time required for diffusion in the pores of the porous inorganic composite can be made shorter, while maintaining satisfactory functions of inorganic substance, for example, ion exchange function, catalytic function and hydrogen-occlusion function.</p>
