METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING MOTOR IN LARGE CAPACITY STORAGE APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A method of controlling a motor in a large capacity storage apparatus is provided to control the commutation of a motor through a PLL(phase locked loop) with phase error data and to present the maximum torque of motor in arranging phase currents with rear electromotive force. CONSTITUTION: A method of detecting phase errors between phase currents and driving voltage is composed by the steps of: generating signals for displaying phase currents; discriminating a time interval when the signals are totally symmetric to the midpoint of time interval if the phase error is almost 0; deciding the symmetric degree of signals to the midpoint of time interval; and creasing phase error data by responding to the former step. Therefore, a PLL controls the proper commutation of a motor with the phase error data.
