PURPOSE: A charging method in the communication network using a No.7 signaling system is to provide the PPM(Periodic Peripheral Metering) cycle of a called side telecommunication company or the PPM cycle by intelligent network services to calling side subscribers in the switching system using a No.7 signaling system as an inter-office signaling system. CONSTITUTION: If a calling subscriber terminal attempts a call(201), a calling call processing part in a calling exchange receives a called number(202) and requests number translation for the called number and a calling number(203). As a result of number translation, if the calling subscriber turns out to be a PPM cycle service subscriber(204), the calling exchange attempts a transit call(205). A No.7 transit call processing part in a transit exchange requests number translation for the received called number(206). As a result of number translation, if the called number is for a transit call to get an intelligent network service(207), the No.7 transit call processing part requests service information to an intelligent network data base(208). The intelligent network data base outputs service information, such as a real called number, a service type, charging information, etc., to the transit exchange(209).
