PURPOSE: A disposable non-woven cleaning article is provided which shows excellent washing efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A disposable non-woven cleaning article (10) with an elongated shape having a major axis (L) and a minor axis (C), and at least one web of entangled fibers (11), is characterized in that the entangled fibers (11) are oriented in a direction parallel to the major axis (L), and the cleaning article (10) ranges in size from 30 mm to 200 mm, preferably 30 mm to 85 mm in the direction of the major axis (L) and from 30 mm to 65 mm in the direction of the minor axis (C). Furthermore, a method of using a disposable non-woven cleaning article (10) of elongated shape having a major axis (L) and a minor axis (C), the cleaning article (10) comprising a web of entangled fibers (11) entangled in a direction parallel to the major axis (L), comprises the following steps of: 1) positioning of the cleaning article (10) on hand/finger tips of user; 2) orienting the major axis of the cleaning article (10) in a direction parallel to fingers of user; 3) applying the cleaning article (10) to surface to be cleaned; 4) cleaning in a direction parallel to fingers of user.
