<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transgenic plant cell transformed with an enzyme encoding soybean calmodulin 4 (SCaM4), or the like, expressing the soybean calmodulin 4 (SCaM4), or the like, and having multiple disease resistance to a wide range of plant diseases, and to obtain the descendants of the transgenic plant cell. SOLUTION: This transgenic plant cell is transformed by a gene encoding soybean calmodulin 4 (SCaM4) or soybean calmodulin 5 (SCaM5), and expresses the SCaM4 or the SCaM5. The transgenic plant cell is preferably the cell of tobacco plant or the cell of a dicotyledon. A method for increasing the multiple disease resistance in a higher plant against the infection of one or more plant pathogens comprises transforming the cell of the plant with an SCaM4 gene binary vector [for example, pLES 9804 (KCTC 0545BP)] or an SCaM5 gene binary vector [for example, pLES 9805 (KCTC 0546BP)].</p> |
