<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail used for a staircase or the like capable of gripping by a hand at the start or the end of ascending or descending, reducing impact even when a body collides therewith, and further improving the safety of a user. SOLUTION: This handrail 1 includes a horizontal part 8 having a pipe 2 mounted on a side wall 18 through a bracket 4 along the side wall 18 of a staircase, in which the end 6 of the pipe 2 is positioned on a horizontal floor 17 without the side wall 18 and in the end 6 continues to the pipe 2, a return part 12 in parallel with or horizontal to the horizontal part 8 through a round part R from the lower end and a support 14 embedded in the floor 17 through the round part R from the edge. Since a substantially U-shaped projection part 9 is positioned on the horizontal floor 17 upward and downward of the staircase 16 without the side wall 18, the continuity of the handrail 1 is held at a place where walking feeling between the staircase 16 and the floor 17 changes, for instance, jumping-into on the platform of a station or the jam of passengers can be avoided, and further safety can be contrived.</p> |
