PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable driving of a vehicle even when a pressure regulating valve cause a stick of valve by arranging a return spring of the pressure regulating valve so as to press a spool in a direction in which a friction engaging element for starting is engaged. SOLUTION: In this hydraulic pressure control device, when engine is stopped for parking or stopping of a car and an oil pump is stopped and hydraulic pressure is in an OFF state, a spool 41 of a pressure regulating valve 32d of a friction engaging element L/C for starting is moved to a position of engaging the friction engaging element L/C for starting by a pressing force of a return spring 50 and stopped. Therefore, even when a stick of valve occurs due to a long parking or long stopping of the car and the spool of any of the pressure regulating valves is not operated, the car can be at least started and traveled by supplying hydraulic pressure to the friction engaging element L/C for starting through the pressure regulating valve and fastening the friction engaging element L/C for starting. Accordingly, even when the stick of valve occurs, a state in which the car cannot run at all can surely be avoided.
