PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating prevention device for a slide door type gate capable of preventing the front part of the gate together with the floating prevention device from being raised. SOLUTION: A floating prevention device for a slide door type gate comprises a sash sheave 5f at the front of the gate and a floating prevention device 7 installed near the front end part of a rail 1. An outwardly projecting lock part 53b is provided at the lower end part of a side wall of a sash sheave case of the sash sheave 5f. The floating prevention device 7 comprises an upper surface wall 71 and a leg part 72 which extends downward from both end parts of the upper surface wall 71 and buried in the ground. The upper surface wall 71 comprises a notch part 73 used to fit a wheel of a front sash sheave 5b of the gate moved to a close position to the lower end part of the side wall of the sash sheave case 53. The upper surface wall 71 is engaged, on its upper side, with a lock part 53b of the front sash sheave case 53 of the gate located at the close position. The floating prevention device 7 comprises a locked part to be locked, on its lower side, to the end part on both right and left sides of the rail.
