PURPOSE: A projection device is provided to increase the contrast of images formed on a predetermined part of a background region, in order to improve the resolution of the device. CONSTITUTION: A projection device includes a projection member(6,7), at least one laser CRT(1), and at least one fluorescent CRT(2). The projection member(6,7) projects images on a CRT or an outside screen. At least one laser CRT(1) is arranged so as to illuminate on the same screen(4). Also, at least one fluorescent CRT(2) is also arranged so as to illuminate on the same screen(4). The fluorescent CRT(2) is further operated to form an image of big size with low resolution while the laser CRT(1) is operated to form an image of small size with high resolution.
