MODE SETTING DEVICE OF SET TOP BOX USING REMOCON IN SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A mode setting device of set top box using remocon in satellite communication system is provided to easily change the operation mode of a set top box by an user. CONSTITUTION: A mode setting device of set top box using remocon in satellite communication system comprises a PC(5) and a set top box(4) having a demultiplexer(44), a MPEG decoder(53), a data memory(51), a remocon signal receiver(54) and a processor(52). The demultiplexer(44) selectively outputs receive data having same PID as a preset PID. The MPEG decoder(53) decodes and outputs MPEG data output from the demultiplexer(44). The PID data corresponding a multimedia service and a satellite broadcasting receive service are stored in the data memory(51). The processor(52) outputs the multimedia service data output from the demultiplexer(44) to the PC and controls mode change on the basis of mode selection signals input from the receiver(54).
