PURPOSE: An optical cable is provided to improve productivity and workability by simultaneously coating a plurality of optical fibers and to facilitate the branching-off of the optical fibers by longitudinally forming neck portions on the coating portion of the optical cable. CONSTITUTION: An optical cable is comprised of optical fibers(12), a coating portion(14b), a auxiliary tension line, and an outer layer, which are sequentially coated or covered. Over outer peripheral surfaces of the optical fibers(12), the coating portion(14) of PVC, polyester or nylon is coated in a constant thickness using an extruder to release tensional force, micro-bending, or bulking of the optical fibers(12). On surface of the coating portion(14), predetermined neck portions(15) are formed along planes which are tangent to the adjoining optical fibers(12).
