PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To show no gonioapparent effects and improve the hiding power with a low thickness and a low pigment to binder ratio by blending a specific colored metallic flake pigment and a film-forming binder. SOLUTION: Three wt.% or less, preferably 2 wt.% or less of a colored metallic flake pigment with an average particle diameter of 30μm or less, preferably 20μm or less which produces a coating showing no gonioapparent effects and which is placed on the surface, a colored pigment, a film-forming binder comprising a cross-linkable resin having at least two cross-linking groups, a curing agent having two or more groups reacting with the binder, a polar aliphatic solvent or polar aromatic solvent and/or water are blended at a ratio of colored pigment to binder of 0.025-1.1 to obtain a straight-shade coating composition. The composition is preferably used as a high-gloss single-layer topcoat. |
