PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus which can realize a proper recording operation irrespective of a size of papers. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a travel means 10 for moving a recording means to an optional position of a paper mount stage 1 where a paper S is placed, a reference position-designating means 20 for designating a desired position A on the paper mount stage 1 as a recording reference position, position-detecting means 16 and 17 for detecting a position where the travel means is present at the mount stage 1 on the basis of the reference position A as a reference, and a control means 40 for controlling driving of the recording means 18 and travel means 10. The control means 40 drives the travel means 10 on the basis of presence position data and recording position data of the travel means 10 to move the recording means 18 to a recording start position, drives the recording means 18 based on recording information and makes the recording means execute a recording operation to the paper S based on the reference position as a reference. |
