PURPOSE: A channel assignment method for a subscriber call in the telephone network access subsystem of the advanced information communication processing system is provided to equally distribute the loads of central processing units managing modem channels. CONSTITUTION: A TPIB(Telephony Processor Interface Board) requests channel assignment information to a TSPB(Telephony Signal Processing Board) through an S-bus(S410). The TSPB checks a modem seizure state, carrying out the inter processor communication with central processing units which administer the modem channels of a TDLB(Text Data Line Board)(S420). The TSPB transmits channel seizure information to the TPIB through the S-bus(S430). The TPIB connects the call of a subscriber to the modem channel which a central processing unit having the lowest channel seizure rate administers, using information for the channel seizure state of the TDLB(S440).
