PURPOSE: A data communication channel managing device is provided to manage and operate a data communication channel by providing a communication memory of playing a role of a data passageway. CONSTITUTION: A memory unit(410) includes a communication memory of playing a role of a data passageway and an operation memory of temporarily storing the operation-maintenance data inputted and outputted through a data communication channel. An overhead connector(430) transmits the data in a corresponding area of the operation memory to an optical transceiver or vice versa. A packet connector(440) transmits the data in a corresponding area of the operation memory to the operation system. A central processing unit(420) controls the memory unit(410) and the overhead connector(430) to carry out the functions.
