PURPOSE: A machine for depositing/withdrawing bills is provided to have an excellent reliability by preventing the bills of various sizes from being caught. CONSTITUTION: A depositing/withdrawing aperture(20) and a bill discriminating unit(30) are arranged on the upper part of a machine(1) for depositing/withdrawing bills. And, bill storages(60,70,80,81) are arranged in the lower part of the machine. A bill sending passage is separated into an upper part and a lower part. A safe case body(106) is installed for surrounding a lower bill tool(1b) formed by the lower bill sending passage(90) and the bill storages. The lower bill sending passage is arranged on the wall of a user manipulating side in the safe case body or on the opposite wall. Moreover, a door is installed for a staff in charge to manipulate. The door is installed on a user side in a front manipulating typed machine. In a rear manipulating typed machine, the door is installed on the opposite side from the user side.
