PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain abrasive resistance and enable the abrasive powder of a pad to be effectively discharged by constituting a brake disk out of aluminum alloy having a plurality of holes chamfered on the sliding face, and plating the sliding face containing the chamfering parts with harder metal than the aluminum alloy. SOLUTION: A brake disk 3 is formed with a plurality of holes 21 on the sliding face 20, and long slots 22 in the radial direction. The edge parts of the holes 21 and the slots 22 are chamfered and then plated. At this time, for plating layer metal harder than the aluminum alloy, Fe-Cr alloy, Fe, Cr, Ni, or the like is used. In this way, by plating on the sliding face containing chamfering parts, peeling of surface plating is prevented and abrasion of the pad due to impact to the edge parts of the holes is restrained. Further these holes 21 and slots 22 have a function discharging abrasive powder of a brake pad 12 by air flow due to action of centrifugal force.
